Apex Mountain on The Rewatchables
57:47 – 60:34… ending Just everything that happens What else do you have for a rewatchable scene? A huge one is running the gas into the panic room Propane tank Yeah It's Apex Mountain for propane That whole sequence is absolutely mind-blowing Are you going to tell us why you don't like the propane tank scene? I mean, I was going to really dive into this for picky nits I just think Jody blows up Like, I think she blows up I think everyone dies in the panic room the moment she lights the flame Did you run some experiments on this? How do you know? There's too much propane gas in the panic room already and it's a closed …

and they close it And now her daughter's in there having a diabetic seizure Yeah Pretty good stuff Last one is just the ending Just everything that happens What else do you have for a rewatchable scene? A huge one is running the gas into the panic room Propane tank Yeah It's Apex Mountain for propane That whole sequence is absolutely mind-blowing Are you going to tell us why you don't like the propane tank scene? I mean, I was going to really dive into this for picky nits I just think Jody blows up Like, I think she blows up I think everyone dies in the panic room the moment she lights the flame Did you run some experiments on this? How do you know? There's too much propane gas in the panic room already and it's a closed space and I just don't see how she doesn't blow up She doesn't even get injured She doesn't even burn like a fingernail She burns her hand She burns her hand Barely Come on She had a fire blanket She does this thing where she dives backwards as she does it I just don't think anyone and not even Robert Williams is that good of an athlete to be able to dive backwards like that Not anymore So that's why I didn't include that You're right It's a fucking awesome scene I love seeing Jared Leto catch on fire The blue flame is great I was sorry I actually I like Time Lord I don't know why I keep fucking saying this Well, listen It's all going to come back on you, Karma West Okay You have a Joel Embiid He said nine knee injuries already This is going to be really weird when people are listening to this episode like a year from now Oh yeah 12 minutes of Robert Williams and 10 minutes of Will Smith at the Oscars Screaming about Leighton Meester Leighton Meester references Yeah, I just I thought that scene was too unrealistic But I agree with you It's incredibly watchable It's just It's really exciting Yeah The anticipation before the explosion You know, like that is pitch perfect suspense filmmaking ! Is there any experience with propane? Just like burn something in your kitchen See how long the smoke stays there Now imagine that's like 10 minutes of propane gas I don't really know how to I'm I just It's been a while since I watched Backdraft I don't really know What do you have for most rewatchable scene, Chris? Well, I was going to go with the propane until you just took a shot at big propane here No, take it! I'm going to go with the propane takes I thought that was like Leto just like banging on the wall and trying to listen and then like his just his reaction to like getting burned up It's just all that stuff where they're you're arguing about whether or not Raul needs to turn the tank off Yeah It's awesome You can tell me Turn this shit off No Turn it down! It's weird It's weirdly character building because it shows you what a psychopath Raul is too
